January 1 always fills me with excitement about the New Year. Some people
make resolutions; I make goals. I prayerfully examine the physical, mental,
spiritual, and professional goals that keep me jumping out of bed each

morning and on to my schedule to make sure these are what I'm supposed to be
doing. Now, for those of you who are not "driven and dramatic" as I tend to
be, I imagine you are shaking your heads and wondering what planet I came
from. But all of us are unique, and this New Year ushers in ways for us to
better ourselves and the world we live in according to God's direction. |

One of my goals for 2008 is to develop a twenty-four hour prayer watch in
which prayer warriors would commit to one hour of prayer per week. The hour
would be filled with prayers for our families, our communities, our
churches, and our world. How wonderful if we could cover every hour of every
day each week with prayer! If you'd like to join us, please e-mail me with
your name and preferred day and time that you'd like to pray. I'll respond
with more instructions.
Our featured this month is Camy Tang. Read about Camy here. She has more excitement and enthusiasm about life than a class of
second-graders filled with sugar! Check out her interview Her Sushi Series
is published by Zondervan.

| February Book Release |
I'm pleased to announce the release of Awaken My Heart, an historical novel
set in 1803 Texas near San Antonio when the state was still a colony underv
Spanish rule. I refer to this as my "Zorro" book because of the hero's
dashing good looks and his rebellious nature toward those who treated the
poor with contempt. The heroine is the daughter of his enemy - did you
expect anything less? Ride the winds of romance with this novel published by
Avon Inspire. A contest will follow in February.

| Here are a few questions that I'm tossing out to all of my readers. Are you
a blog reader? Do you refer to the featured new releases on my blog when you
are looking for a book? What kind of topics would you like to see on a DiAnn
Mills' blog? Thanks! |

"I am but a little pencil in the hand of a mighty God who is writing a love
letter to the world." - Mother Theresa. What's most important is not how
great a writer we are or the number of publishing credits we have, but
rather that we see ourselves as tools God wants to use to communicate his
love. It's not about us.it's about him and what he desires to do through us.
What can you do today to sharpen up and then be ready and available for him
to use you as his instrument?
This life management tip for writers is courtesy of Nancy Williams, licensed
counselor, life coach, and writer.
Blessings!
